What Makes Us Special

It's a great day to be a Freedom Hill Eagle!

Freedom Hill Elementary School has served the rapidly changing Tysons Corner area since 1949, successfully adapting to the dramatic changes in the community. At present, the student body represents over 30 nations and 30 different languages. Technology access has greatly increased in our classrooms (with the incredible support of our PTA and community) to enhance instruction and differentiate for students. Our staff is committed to ongoing professional development as a collective responsibility. A Responsive Classroom and Positivity Project school, we emphasize the importance of community in our classrooms by building and maintaining positive relationships with students and families.

What Makes Us Special

1:1 Technology for All Grades

Freedom Hill ES is an FCPSOn school. In FCPSOn schools, each student receives an FCPS-issued laptop to access dynamic resources and participate in learning tailored to the student’s individual needs. Students will have access to the device at school, and in some schools and grade levels, they will also be able to take their device home.

Advanced Academic Enrichment and Local Level IV Program

Through a continuum of opportunities, students engage in complex subject matter, problem solving experiences and thinking routines that prepare them for more challenging and rigorous classes as they advance in grade level.

Presentations of Learning give every learner multiple opportunities to demonstrate growth toward grade-level expectations for Portrait of a Graduate outcomes.

Young Scholars

The Young Scholars (YS) Model identifies and nurtures advanced academic potential in students from historically underrepresented populations.

With the help of volunteers and donations, the PTA is able to sponsor events such as the BTS Picnic, Culture & Heritage Parade, family nights out, and much more!
